expose students to the elements of good character. They learn that character strengths are attainable through deliberate effort. As they grow, they learn from great literature and historical examples about the positive impacts of good character and the negative ramifications of bad character. As they advance, they continually shape their own character strengths in the context of their development as leaders and citizens. Throughout the Tillman Academy experience, students have the support of teachers and faculty who are primed to help them by providing guidance, example and feedback. Ultimately, as students prepare to step out on their own, their foundation of character development at Tillman Academy will set them in the right direction. They will be well prepared to choose wisely, to think critically, and to become their best selves.
