"Somewhere inside, we hear a voice. It leads us in the direction of who we wish to become. But it is up to us whether or not to follow.
Tillman Academy is named in honor of Pat Tillman, who was a star scholar-athlete and leader of character. In response to the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001, he resigned his promising pro-football career to join the Army and serve his country.
This was Pat’s momentous decision whereby he took stock of his individual capacity and potential and aligned it with a deep sense of responsibility to a greater purpose. With a full awareness of his station in life and in the arc of history, he also recognized his critical opportunity to affect the future.
Pat boldly made a crucial choice that reflected the core of his leadership, character, and civic virtue. In keeping with Pat’s legacy, at Tillman Academy, we seek to enable and inspire each student to pursue lifelong learning and achieve his/her full potential.
